PRIVACY POLICY NOTICE

The protection of your privacy is extremely important to Hogan Agency, Inc.  We respect your privacy and are committed to managing your personal financial and health information safely and responsibly.  While personal information about you is fundamental to our ability to providing quality insurance service, your privacy is also very important to us.  We are therefore committed to keeping that information secure and confidential.  When you apply for insurance through Hogan Agency, you disclose a certain amount of information about yourself to us.  The collection, use, and disclosure of such information are regulated by law.  We also recognize the confidentiality expectations you have of us.  Therefore, it is the policy of Hogan Agency:

• To collect only information necessary or relevant to our business; business needs, to     regulatory or other governmental authorities or as otherwise permitted by law; and

• To limit employee access to personally identifiable information to those who have a business      reason for knowing such information.

• To make a reasonable effort to ensure that the information we act upon is accurate, relevant,      timely and complete.

• To use only legitimate means to collect information;

• To make personal information available externally only to respond to legitimate inquiries.


INFORMATION WE COLLECT:

We obtain most of our information directly from you.  The application you complete, as well as any additional information you provide, generally gives us most of the information we need to know.  We may also collect personal information about you from any of your other transactions with us, our affiliates or others.  Sometimes we may contact you by phone or mail to obtain additional information.


Depending on the nature of your insurance transaction, we may need additional information about you or other individuals proposed for coverage.  For auto insurance, we may need information from motor vehicle records.  For property coverages, we may send someone to inspect your property and verify information about its value and condition.  A photo of any property to be insured might be taken.  We may review insurance claims information and other loss information reports, and we may also obtain medical or financial information to adjust some claims, or to underwrite life or health insurance.


We may obtain the additional information we need from third parties, such as other insurance companies, government agencies, information clearinghouses, courts and other public records.  We may obtain consumer credit information from a consumer reporting agency.

INFORMATION WE SHARE:

We do not share information about our customers or former customers, except as permitted by law and only for the purpose of transacting the business of your insurance coverage or your claim.   Personal information that has been collected about you is   retained in our records and supplied to various insurance carriers who may be quoting your insurance coverage.  We review it in evaluating your request for insurance coverage and in determining your rates.  We will also refer to and use such information in our policy records for purposes related to issuing and servicing insurance policies and settling claims.  

OUR PRACTICES REGARDING INFORMATION CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY:

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information in order to provide products or services to you.  We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

OUR POLICY REGARDING DISPUTE RESOLUTION:

Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to our privacy policy, or the breach thereof, shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, and judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.  

RESERVATION OF THE RIGHT TO DISCLOSE INFORMATION IN UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES:

In connection with the potential sale or transfer of its interest, Hogan Agency, Inc. reserves the right to sell or transfer your information (including but not limited to your address, name, age, sex, zip code, state and country of residency and other information that you provide through other communications) to a third party entity that (1) concentrates its business in a similar practice or service; (2) agrees to be Hogan Agency, Inc.’s successor in interest with regard to the maintenance and protection of the information collected; and  (3) agrees to the obligations of this privacy statement.
